Previously, on America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion: The girls had a go-see challenge, and then a photo shoot for the America’s Next Top Model perfume, “Dream Come True.” Sophie got best photo; Annaliese was sent home.

The episode opens with Sophie and Laura back at the hotel. Sophie camera talks that Laura has a stronger modeling book, but she has a stronger walk. So who knows who’s going to win the finals?

Tyra Mail: “Tomorrow is going to be a blast! Fierce and Love, Tyra.”

The next day, the girls meet up with Jay Manuel for the Cover Girl photo shoot at some kind of temple. Jay lets them know that they’ve actually been shooting their Cover Girl commercial over the entire competition, and that scenes from their adventure through the competition will show during the commercial. The girls go to hair and makeup and start memorizing their lines for the commercial.

During her photo shoot Laura starts to feel faint, but they take a break and she pulls it together. Afterwards, Laura starts to break down again – she’s shaking, sweating, and short of breath; Jay calls for a medic and she goes to the hospital. Once back at the hotel Laura calls her parents and tells them she had a panic attack. Sophie gets back and they hug it out. Sophie says that even though they’re in a competition, she and Laura are still really good friends.

Sophie – UK

Laura – USA

Tyra Mail: “Buongiorno bellisima! Fierce and Love, Tyra.”

The next day the ladies meet up with photographer Jez Smith and Valentina Serra, stylist for Vogue Italia. They’re doing a hyper-stylized spa-inspired photo shoot for Vogue Italia, and the winner will have their spread published in the magazine. After the shoot Jez says he thinks it’s neck and neck between Sophie and Laura.

Tyra Mail: “Time to show the world the real you! Fierce and Love, Tyra.”

Tyra shows up at the villa to talk to each of the girls individually. Laura and Tyra talk about Laura’s panic attack. Tyra asks Laura if the pirate in her (??) is covering something. Laura talks about her parents being alcoholics and having to be the caregiver in her family. Sophie and Tyra talk about her chances of winning America’s Next Top Model as a Brit. Tyra says that if she was 21 she would want to be Sophie’s friend. I think I would want to be Sophie’s friend too…only I don’t want to be 21 again.

The girls meet up with Jay Manuel and he tells them about their fashion show for Forever 21. For the first time in Top Model history, the women will take part in a holographic runway show interacting with lifelike images and also walking in sync with the outline of their own bodies. To help them out, they’ve brought back Catherine, Eboni, Alisha, and Annaliese. What? No Azmarie? Alisha camera talks that if she had stayed in the competition she would have won. Yet, she quit. So shut up, Alisha. The girls go to hair and makeup and they all get Lady Gaga-esque hair bows made of hair.

The show starts with a video of Tyra, of course. Tyra announces the opening of the show and Laura walks out with a big stuffed lion, of course. The models have to walk in time with their holographic outline on the catwalk, and Alisha totally boffs it. So much for winning the competition, eh Alisha? Then some random samurai knight holograms come out and Laura and Sophie fight them. The show ends with both girls on stage trying to out-walk each other.

Panel: Sophie and Laura are both wearing fancy ball gowns. Jay Manuel is the fourth judge for panel. Tyra says Laura doesn’t have a horrible walk, but she had a “side smoochy tooch smirk.” Nigel says Sophie was elegant, and Tyra says she was beautiful.

Nigel says Laura’s commercial was one of his favorite Cover Girl commercials for America’s Next Top Model – when she wasn’t looking at the camera. Nigel says he wasn’t crazy about Sophie’s behind-the-scene moments. Kelly says she doesn’t really love Laura’s Cover Girl ad. Kelly says Sophie’s ad is “super star.”

The judges go through each model’s portfolio, as well as their music videos. They go back and forth and it really seems down to the wire between Laura and Sophie. The girls come back in, and Tyra announces the winner:

It’s Sophie!

I think the judges made the right choice. What do you think? Was Sophie the rightful winner of America’s Next Top Model?
