Previously, on The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons: the Challengers had yet another challenge involving them doing stuff really high over the water. Team Real World: Las Vegas won the title of “Power Team.” Team Fresh Meat got last place and were automatically sent to the arena. After a heated debate between Alton and the rest of Team Real World: Las Vegas, sent Team Real World: Brooklyn was sent into the arena vs. Team Fresh Meat. Brandon and Camila from Team Fresh Meat lost in the arena and were sent home.

The episode opens with the Challengers on some kind of party boat. Devyn and Eric are snuggled up on the boat, and she says she’s used to dating guys that are collecting social security checks…um, gross. Knight and Trishelle are talking and she says Team Real World: New Orleans is not a threat to them, but she constantly has to take care of Nany and clean up the mess of Team Real World: Las Vegas.

Everyone is conveniently gathered around at the villa when “TJ” “sends” a clue to the Challengers: “Tomorrow’s your perfect opportunity to shed some excess weight.” Zach says, “We’re going to lift something.” Which I think is wrong. What I do think, is that if Johnny Bananas were there, he would say something like, “We’re going to have to take laxatives, and then eat a bunch of refried beans, and then go running…” Yeah, something like that.

Nany is looking all over the house for her bag of laundry. Apparently, all of the challengers send their laundry out to be done? I guess it makes sense, I just never really thought about that aspect of The Challenge. So Nany is going crazy looking for her missing laundry, and it turns out Knight put her bag of laundry in the pool. Jemmye is just like, “why did you do that?” And he doesn’t really have a good reason at all. Is there some secret vendetta Knight has against Nany that I missed on the previous episodes?

So Jemmye tells Nany, and by this point the bag is at the bottom of the pool. Jemmye actually gets more mad about it than Nany, and tells Knight he needs to man up and tell Nany that he did it. She also says she hates him more now than she’s ever hated him in her whole life. Camila tells Knight he’s a loser and a piece of dirt. Knight camera talks that “this is a game” and that if he can mentally break somebody, then maybe they shouldn’t be there.

So then, asshole that he is, Knight says if they’re going to complain about a little laundry, maybe they should get all their clothes thrown in the pool. And he takes Nany’s entire suitcase and throws it into the pool. Dustin, genius that he is, says that Knight knows Nany is the most emotional person on Team Real World: Las Vegas, so they’re going to “turn those lemons into watermelons.” He comes out with his swimming suit and a swimming cap, dives into the pool, and helps Camila and Eric fish all the clothes out of the pool. Knight says that he’s in their head now, but Frank actually pins it on the nose and tells him all he accomplished was rallying them together and posing himself as their common enemy.

The next day, the challengers arrive at the “Don’t Weigh Me Down” challenge. TJ Lavin explains that there is a giant platform with seven holes in it – one for each team. There’s a rope going through the hole that’s attached to a basket on the ground. The teams’ goal is to hold up their basket while their opponents put rocks in the basket to try to weigh it down. Each team is going to be cut in half: one half holds the basket and one half runs and throws rocks in the other teams’ baskets. The first team to let their basket hit the ground gets automatically sent to the arena; the last team wins the title of “power team.”

Before the challenge starts, everyone philosophizes, and it’s kind of up in the air as to who they want to take out first: Team Fresh Meat or Team Real World: Brooklyn. TJ blows the horn and everyone goes for the rocks. Team Real World: Brooklyn goes out first. Team Fresh Meat goes out next, and then the alliances take turns just throwing one rock in each basket. Frank starts mouthing off to the others, and everyone starts bitching that the others are throwing too many rocks into their respective baskets. It comes down to Team Real World: Las Vegas and Team Real World: Cancun; Team Real World: Cancun wins “power team” for the second time.

Back at the villa, Team Real World: Cancun gathers the alliance for a meeting. They tell Team Real World: Saint Thomas that two of their members aren’t going with “the plan.” Marie aka Ke$ha gets pissed off and tells them to go ahead and vote for Saint Thomas.

TJ arrives later on and asks who Team Real World: Cancun is sending into the arena vs. Team Real World: Brooklyn. Derek announces that they are sending in Team Fresh Meat again…wahn wahn. TJ says he’d be lonely in there without Team Fresh Meat. The only game left is “mental” for the arena game. There are only two players left on Team Fresh Meat, Camila and Big Easy, but Team Real World: Brooklyn must choose two players to go into the arena.

Later on, CJ, Alton, and Trey are discussing things, and Trey says he feels like the only reason he didn’t get voted into the arena was because of Marie. CJ and Alton say they don’t make the calls, and Chet asks why his team is in the bottom every time then. CJ says it’s not about Chet, and that he’s proud of him as a competitor. Chet tells him he’s a fake and a phony, and not to tell him he’s a good competitor and then ensure that he’s thrown into the arena every time.

The kids go out to the bar, and on the way back, Camila complains that no one is really competing in the game. Instead of trying to win, they’re trying to make other teams lose. Jemmye starts yelling at Camila, and then Devyn stands up and starts screaming at everyone. Then Knight stands up and starts yelling at Camila. Then Jemmye starts to lunge for Camila. Camila tells Knight he needs to stop crying over Jemmye because she doesn’t love him. It’s a hot mess.

Then, they get back to the villa, and Knight starts in on Nany. And Nany. Loses. Her shit. Nany has Trishelle and Frank holding her back, she calms down a bit, and then Knight starts in on her again. Nany starts to freak out and says she wants to go home, and Dustin tries to talk her down. She starts to pack her stuff and Knight just continues to egg her on. Dustin finally manages to get her to another room and puts her to bed. Yeah, so Knight, class act that guy. Jemmye camera talks that Knight’s actions have only confirmed that she did the right thing by breaking up with him and not taking him back.

Eric asks Devyn what the biggest age difference has been between her and her exes (like a bajillion, apparently), and he accuses her of lying to him four times about it. She says that she doesn’t want to talk about it and thinks that he’s just looking for an excuse to pull away. Knight is actually coherent and talks some sense into Eric. Eric and Devyn talk it out.

Devyn tells Sarah that she’s going to volunteer for the arena, but then she says that she might back out at the last minute. At the arena, Devyn volunteers. And then…To Be Continued

Next time, on The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons: Devyn and Big Easy go up against each other in the arena: one of them must go home.
