Now that we’re coming up to the holiday season again, it usually also means it’s time for another family movie. This time that comes in the form of Parental Guidance starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, who play grandparents awarded the joyful task of looking after the family’s latest additions; a bunch of ordinary, annoying kids.

The film also stars Marisa Tomei and Tom Everett Scott as the kids’ parents who are going out of town. It’s a movie that looks at traditional versus modern-day parenting, in a cutesy, family-friendly, oh-no-you-fed-the-kids-cake, happy joy-joy way. Oh, and there’s also a scene where Crystal takes a baseball bat to the balls. Yaaaaay! Or nay? Oh, decide amongst yourselves, here’s the trailer:

The blurb, taken from /Film:

Old school grandfather Artie, who is accustomed to calling the shots, meets his match when he and his eager-to-please wife Diane agree to babysit their three grandkids when their type-A helicopter parents go away for work. But when 21st century problems collide with Artie and Diane’s old school methods of tough rules, lots of love and old-fashioned games, it’s learning to bend – and not holding your ground – that binds a family together.

And you’ll be able to see this little nugget of joy when it’s released on December 25… (Not at all predictable)
