For years TV dad’s have been like our own. From the time you watched I Love Lucy reruns to when you thought it’d be cool to be raised by just a dad (one uncle and a friend) like in Full House to wondering what it’d be like to face a zombie apocalypse alongside your old man thanks to The Walking Dead. While all those dads have their high and low points, it is these next batch of men who have caught our eye and hearts and we salute them this Father’s Day by naming them the best.

10. Walter White, Breaking Bad
You’re a father in a low paying job and you’ve just been diagnosed with cancer? What are you going to do? Well anything to make sure my family is taken care of.

9. Jimmy Chance, Raising Hope
Even though his daughter’s mother is a serial killer, Jimmy never holds any animosity towards her. Look above the bad times and ahead to the good ones.

8. Archie Bunker, All in the Family
So your dad’s a little racist, but when he’s not being the crudest on the block he can showcase that he has some sort of heart.

7.  Carl Winslow, Family Matters
Urkel may have not been his son, but the fact that Carl let that annoyance over more often than not without hurting him proves he’s a man who cares.

6.  Dexter Morgan, Dexter
In his defense, he only kills bad guys (minus those few slip ups over the years), so his pastime aside, Dexter is a pretty good dad to Harrison.

5. Sandy Cohen, The O.C.
Even after a long day of helping out the world, he makes time to surf and take in kids off the street. Okay, he only did that last part once, but it was sweet of him.

4. Dan Conner, Roseanne
He is what most of us think of when we hear the term “dad;” big (causing us to be intimidated), obsessed with sports, able to fix anything and a hardworking man.

3. Cameron Tucker, Modern Family
This guy is almost like Dan. He’s big, was a sportsman can fix anything and make it look good, and he works hard at home and in the professional world. Wait, they are exactly the same. Only Cam’s more modern.

2. Dr. Heathcliff ‘Cliff’ Huxtable, The Cosby Show
How someone manages to have that many kids, be a doctor and still find time to be comical is a miracle.

1. Zeek Braverman, Parenthood
He’s not only the father of four adults but the grandpa to almost ten grandkids. This man works too hard for a retired Vet, but does it all for his family. That’s what a true dad is and that’s why he’s a prime idea of a patriarch.
