#MCM – Scott Eastwood
I am a sucker for a Nicholas Sparks’ movie. There are always hunky heartthrobs cast in the lead role and this week’s The Longest Ride is no exception. Scott Eastwood will star with Britt Robertson and many are saying that this will be his breakout role. Sparks is famous for writing many novels- turned- movies that have helped start many actors’ careers such as Ryan Gosling in The Notebook, Channing Tatum in Dear John, Liam Hemsworth in The Last Song, and Zac Efron in The Lucky One. Sparks’ movies attract female audiences and the ladies will not be disappointed with Scott Eastwood. He will play Luke Collins, a bull-riding champion who falls in love with a college student who is about to embark on her dream job to New York.
Scott Clinton Reeves was born in Monterey County, California to Jacelyn Ann Reeves, a flight attendant, and Clint Eastwood, an actor and director. He has a younger sister and five paternal half-siblings. He graduated from high school in 2003 and attended Loyola Marymount where he graduated in 2008 with a degree in communications.
His career began in 2008 where he played a role in his father’s film Gran Torino. The following year, he was cast in another one of his father’s works, Invictus. Over the next few years, Eastwood slowly began building his career. It wasn’t until 2014, that that Eastwood landed a role on Fury starring Brad Pitt. The movie received generally positive reviews.
Eastwood’s dad was not one to give out handouts, but he was also supportive of his son’s aspirations. “My dad didn’t care if I was a plumber or an actor,” said Scott Eastwood on the Today show last year. “He said whatever you do just do it well. Just be humble about what you do, and be a good guy and tell the truth.” Eastwood did everything from parking cars to construction to support himself while trying to pursue acting.
Eastwood was cast in the upcoming biopic Snowden with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley and directed by Oliver Stone, which will be out at the end of the year. He is also slated to star as Steve Trevor with Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and Jared Leto in Suicide Squad set to release next year.
Scott Eastwood is this week’s Man Crush Monday for five reasons.
1. He is HOT HOT HOT…
do I need to elaborate?
2. He is humble.
Even though he is basically Hollywood royalty, he made his career on his terms.
3. He cares about his gay fanbase.
“ I love it I don’t discriminate against my fans. Fans are fans and gay men are great,” Scott told PrideSource.com. “ I support gay marriage and the whole bit. I think everybody should be able to be with who they want to be with.”
4. He never really has a shirt on
Being raised in Hawaii will do that to you, but who is complaining really?
5. Social Media
Eastwood is very active on Twitter and Instagram. He is always posting behind the scenes shots with his cast mates. He also promotes all of his projects heavily. Follow his twitter @ScottEastwood and Instagram @scotteastwood.
