The HBO series Big Little Lies just got a big boost for Season 2: Meryl Streep will be joining in the fun.

According to Variety, Streep will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother of wife-abuser Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgård), who was killed in Season 1 when he fell down some concrete stairs. Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perry’s death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers.

Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon will both be reprising their roles, along with producing the series, while David E. Kelley, who wrote and executive produced Season 1, will return as well. Jean-Marc Vallée, who directed all of Season 1, will also executive produce and probably helm Season 2.

A premiere date for the second season of Big Little Lies has yet to be set.
