The whole Charles Manson horror show is a very popular film topic right now. This year there are two movies coming out about the Sharon Tate murders, including the lower budget movie The Haunting of Sharon Tate, starring Hillary Duff, and Quentin Tarantino’s higher profile Oscar baiter Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And there’s this one, too — Charlie Says takes a look at the three infamous women in the Manson family who were convicted for the murders.

Here’s the premise for Charlie Says: Years after the shocking murders that made the name Charles Manson synonymous with pure evil, the three women who killed for him — Leslie Van Houten (Hannah Murray), Patricia Krenwinkel (Sosie Bacon) and Susan Atkins (Marianne Rendón) — remain under the spell of the infamous cult leader (played by Matt Smith). Confined to an isolated cellblock, the trio seem destined to live out the rest of their lives under the delusion that their crimes were part of a cosmic plan, until an empathetic graduate student (Merritt Wever) attempts to rehabilitate them.
