Rather than trying not to give any inkling of a spoiler, here are six things we loved about Avengers: Endgame.

  • It’s Long.

At just over 3 hours Endgame is the longest Marvel, and comic book movie made yet. Thankfully it goes down easy thanks to how action-packed, and quickly paced it is. Be sure to use the bathroom before!

  • Expect callbacks to many of the previous MCU catalog.

Not giving anything away, but it’s interesting how they work within the expansive series of 10 years of films. It’s like a trip down memory lane Marvel style when the plot kicks into high gear. You might see familiar faces, even if you think they might have been written out of the movies entirely. You might revisit old locations from the past, and rehash old events of the timeline. Buckle up it’s a wild ride!

  • Great performances.

Not saying that these movies never worked with the amazing pool of actors they cast, but sometimes it’s easy to take them for granted. There’s some major emotional heavy lifting going on here. Chris Evan, Scarlett Johannsson, Robert Downey Jr, Jeremy Renner, and Karen Gillan all have moments that cut deep. It’s the best showcase of the range of talent Marvel has collected through the years.

  • It will make you cry.

Almost operatic at times Endgame delivers on the emotion. These are all characters we’ve grown to love and care about. The stakes and emotions are giant here. There’s a great scene with Downey Jr and Paltrow that’s one of the best of the film. It reminds oneself of the power of the movie star chemistry that made that relationship work so well in the Iron Man films. Bring tissues!

  • The Future Looks Bright for the MSU.

It will be no surprise to fans that Endgame is the end of “Phase Three” in the MCU. It’s a transitional movie that bridges a gap to new exciting properties and expanding current characters. Look for The Eternals, and Shang-Chi to make their first appearance in the coming years. There are also sequels planned for Guardians, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and of course, Spider-Man Far From Home, which is being released this July.

  • It’s the best Marvel film to date.

Following Avenger’s Infinity War, which topped various top 10 lists last year, Endgame had a tough act to follow with audiences and critics. So far, it’s managed to top expectations. It currently sits at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Endgame has some of the most satisfying action, humor, and yes heart of all the films. With genuinely moving moments between its characters Avengers: Endgame is a satisfying cap to the last 10 years of films.
