Dancing with the Stars: Solo Loses Hope of Winning

In a result that was hardly a surprise, Hope Solo was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars tonight. After consistently finish around the middle of the pack (or slightly lower), Solo's scores last night were easily the lowest of the four remaining celebrities, making her exit quite predictable. Solo's stint on the show led to some entertaining and awkward moments. Most notably, her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy feuded with the judges multiple times as he disagreed with some of the couple's scores. Additionally, Solo, a star soccer goalie, struggled to be graceful and sexy on the dance floor. With Solo out, the final three is now Rob Kardashian, Ricki Lake, and J.R. Martinez. Few expected Kardashian to make it this far, but he has earned his spot in the finals, partially due to this being a weak field. Overall though, Lake and Martinez have been the best dancers on the program consistently. If Martinez's injured ankles can hold up, then he'll likely be favored. But if he struggles again, then Ricki Lake may very well walk away with the Mirror Ball Trophy. Who will win Season 13?

‘Dancing with the Stars’ is No Longer Pro-Bono

In a result that was a hardly a surprise, Chaz Bono was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars tonight. Bono consistently earned among the lowest scores every week and was often pegged for elimination. But his winning personality, his determination, and the support he received from Cher fans kept him in the competition. However, after an awful tango with partner Lacey Schwimmer to the Phantom of the Opera theme, Chaz's low-score of 19 had him pegged for elimination and he couldn't get enough votes to be saved. Some thought that Hope Solo and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy might be eliminated after their poor score of 20. But Chmerkovskiy's vocal feud with judge Len Goodman was the talk of the show last night, and the couple managed enough votes to stay alive. Most fantasy players did pick Chaz Bono, although some spread their points around.

Hines Ward Steals ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Trophy

He's already won a Super Bowl MVP award, but Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward arguably won a bigger prize tonight -- the Mirror Ball Trophy. Ward became the second football player to win the coveted Dancing with the Stars, joining Emmitt Smith who won in Season 3. Ward and partner Kym Johnson earned consistently high marks and showed great chemistry all season long. The pair got a perfect score in their halftime show-inspired freestyle dance last night, and capped it off with one more perfect score tonight. The result was predicted by our very own Erica Scandariato, who correctly foresaw that Ward's winning combination of charmed females and football fanatics would provide enough votes to boost his already high scores. The only major surprise of the night was that Disney star Chelsea Kane her partner Mark Ballas fell back to third place, despite earning scores that were essentially to equal to Hines and Kym's. Kirstie Alley showed that she had plenty of fan support and finished in second place with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
